Position Description
This part-time position serves as an assistant auditor performing supporting tasks in conducting operational and performance audits in compliance with applicable audit standards. This position assists audit staff with developing audit plans and programs, evaluating efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls, evaluating compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, and interacting with other agency personnel. This position will also perform tasks related to administrative support for the office. This position performs work under the direction of the Inspector General in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities stipulated in Section 20.055, Florida Statutes. Professionalism and consistent attendance are essential functions of this position.
 

Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, management information systems or other business field. Students in progress of obtaining undergraduate (junior or senior level) or graduate degrees in these areas may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to effectively, accurately, and professionally communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, statutes, and rules.
Ability to compile, evaluate, and analyze data.  Knowledge of basic accounting. 
Skilled in use of various software programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point. 
Ability to utilize effective time management skills and to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Ability to perform duties in an ethical manner.
Ability to maintain independence and objectivity in work.
