SPECIAL NOTES:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional requirement:
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preference:
- Applicants who are fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).
In the event of a natural disaster, may be required to serve as a First Responder for the Department to help carry out DFS responsibilities. This could entail traveling for a period of up to 7 – 10 days and working extended hours during this time.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
This position will start at the non-negotiable salary of $17.39 per hour
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE,

- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to review and resolve insurance complaints
- Ability to work with others
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Responsible for forwarding incoming correspondence on existing and new service request files received via the Department’s multiple Inboxes. Responsible for the creation of new service request files in Service Point from email requests received via the Department’s multiple Inboxes. Responsible for processing incoming emails that are not routed to the correct Service Request file. Answer calls received on the Division telephone line. Communicates clearly and effectively by telephone, personal contact, or correspondence with the consumer, insurance company or other stakeholder.
Scans and enters copies of paid invoices, checks, and refunds into ServicePoint. Creates, updates, and maintains Neutral Evaluator and Mediator records in computer databases, provides reports, and performs special research assignments related to these individuals.
Responsible for processing incoming postal mail received for the Division.
The incumbent in this position is a member of the DFS disaster response team and in that capacity may be required, on short notice, to perform duties in support of disaster relief efforts. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as directed by Supervisor.
