Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET) Monday through Friday.

Work at the FWC is cross-functional, meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC's organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.

 

Valid US Driver’s License – up to 25% travel is required.

 

Preferred office location is in Tallahassee, FL but may consider other locations in Florida.

 

OPS Employment Description:

The position is classified as a full-time OPS (Other Personnel Services) position. The position may work between 25 to 40 hours per week and is paid for the number of hours worked rather than a salaried position. There is potential for participation in state health insurance benefits.

 

Experience:

  • Six years of experience in data processing, programming, database management, or computer systems analysis; or,
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or management information systems and two years of experience as described below can substitute for the required experience; or
  • Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Experience in graphic design is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Other Personal Services (OPS) position is based out of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN). The FWC is seeking a self-motivated, outcome oriented individual to serve as a database and website content manager assisting the FYCCN staff by:

  • Managing FYCCN database needs in a customer relationship management system, such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365;
  • Handling data related to summer camps, conservation center programming, volunteer data, and partnership programs; overseeing FYCCN website management;
  • Prepares and reviews sales data from the electronic licensing solution.
  • Reports on daily, weekly, monthly, or annual sales
  • Develops and maintains data visualization reports
  • Analyzes data dashboards to predict issues, identify bugs in data and work to resolve
  • Working independently on special projects and/or assisting in directing and completing special projects or other activities as needed by the supervisor;
  • Assisting internal and external database users;
  • Evaluating and analyzing needs expressed from agency staff, stakeholders, the Commission,etc., and recommends system changes to accommodate
  • Managing FYCCN webpages to remain and engaging;
  • Ensure proper compliance with systems and applications
  • Where applicable, utilizing graphic design skills to create engaging outreach materials and webpage items;
  • Performing other work as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with database management via a customer relationship management system, specifically Salesforce and Dynamics 365
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn website management using content management systems, preferably Umbraco
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to prepare program specifications
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with people having varied backgrounds, knowledge, and system requirements
  • Ability to compile, collect, and organize data
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures
