Position Summary

This professional position within State Office Human Resources is responsible for independently carrying out a wide range of HR functions. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strict confidentiality, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a thorough understanding of agency policies, procedures, goals, and human resources programs.

 

The Work You Will Do 

  • Maintain and update employee personnel records using electronic HR systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Process and complete employment verification requests in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute HR reports using various electronic platforms.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions and meetings, including scheduling, securing venues, and managing invitations and attendance.
  • Support audits and internal reviews by gathering, organizing, and providing requested documentation.
  • Provide administrative and operational support across HR functions, including Payroll, Classification, and Recruitment.
  • Perform special projects, compile reports, and draft professional correspondence as needed to support HR operations.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess one year of experience in human resources.
  • A valid driver’s license.

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Basic principles of personnel administration.

 

  • One or more personnel program functions such as selection, classification, and pay, employee benefits, labor relations, employer/employee relations, or training.

 

  • Principles and techniques of effective communication.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.  Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
