Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The OPS Program Consultant position (37940300) is an advanced technical support position in the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration’s Division Office in Tallahassee. This position will serve as a project/contract manager for technical contracts and grants that support activities associated with water quality, including implementing the total maximum daily loads, basin management action plans, and other restoration programs. The position may also support the tracking of various business functions within the division. The position has the responsibility of handling various assignments and dealing with a variety of tasks and must use independent judgement and problem-solving skills to successfully accomplish the job.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of contract management procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to solve problems and effectively make decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to prepare and critique technical reports.
- Skill in using MS-Office.
- Ability to successfully complete training for Florida Certified Contract Manager designation.
- Ability to travel outside of Tallahassee.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of verifiable related experience in state contract and grant management. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
