Position Summary
This is a professional position working with consumers, agency staff, and other stakeholders within Waiver Support. Providing technical assistance exercising independent judgement to make decision or prepare complete and concise recommendation for supervisory approval.
The Work You Will Do
Conduct cost plan/significant additional needs reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and procedures. Participate in hearings related to recommendations for significant additional needs.
Use current rules, laws, and procedures to provide technical assistance to Waiver Support Coordinators and Regional staff on matters related to cost plan/significant additional needs reviews and decisions. Use current rules, laws and procedures to provide clear and accurate clinical recommendations or responses or inquiries and concerns from consumers, agency staff, and other stakeholders on or before assigned deadlines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

- At least one year of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities; and

- Bachelor’s Degree in a human services profession as indicated in Section 483.430(b)(5), Code of Federal Regulations.

- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

- Must be proficient with time management, planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.

- Must be able to apply program rules, policies, and procedures.

Direct Deposit Program
As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
