MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

A high school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of secretarial or clerical work experience; or

 

College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for the required work experience; or

 

Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for the required work experience.   

 

Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

The anticipated hiring salary for this position is $15.00 hourly.

JOB DUTIES:

 

This position provides comprehensive administrative support to the Forest Management Bureau, requiring advanced proficiency in word processing, database management, email systems, and specialized software.   The incumbent must independently organize work priorities, maintain electronic and physical files, and ensure effective use of computer resources.

 

Serves as primary administrative support for bureau staff, including managing incoming calls, distributing mail, preparing professional correspondence, coordinating copying, incoming and outgoing mail, and maintaining select electronic bureau files.

 

Provides primary support for the Florida Forest Service main incoming telephone line.

 

Enters and updates Forest Stewardship Program plan progress data in the Forest Stewardship Program database as directed by the Cooperative Forestry Assistance (CFA) Supervisor. Monitors program progress by County Foresters and Forestry Consultants via quarterly reports submitted by Regional CFA Coordinators and reports discrepancies to the CFA Supervisor.

 

Manages administrative functions of the TREE CITY USA program as directed by the CFA Supervisor including maintaining the program database, monitoring approved applications, and preparing correspondence with the Arbor Day Foundation and field units.

 

Provides administrative support for cost-sharing programs administered by the Forest Management Bureau.  This includes preparing correspondence with applicants, contracts, and other documents required for program delivery as directed by the CFA Supervisor.

 

Performs other duties as required.
