POSITION OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides web strategy, design, and development, routine site and content maintenance, and various updates to ensure the Department’s website aligns with its goals and objectives while also maintaining the content management system (CMS) used to control the information on the website. 

 

PAY:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $15.00 to $50.00, hourly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as website designer for the Department,
  • Provide design and production support for site updates and emails,
  • Produce, optimize and output final Web-Ready digital artwork in support of site updates,
  • Marketing design examples that communicate as well as decorate,
  • Integrate campaigns from marketing material into web design and web content organization,
  • Create online/console assets for banner, email, social media, landing pages, and site pages,
  • Take loose requirements from marketing and communication team and turn them into effective digital art assets for use in online content,
  • Design within department brand guidelines to ensure designs are brand compliant, conforming to the overall brand identity and strategy, which could include logos, icons, documents, and other asset templates,
  • Provide wireframes using Adobe suite for site implementation,
  • Design and configure web architecture and overall site structure,
  • Write code for custom templates, modules, web applications, and third-party integrations using PHP, TWIG, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and other languages,
  • Develop detailed design specifications from business requirements,
  • Perform other related tasks as requested.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of Web technologies, protocols, and tools;
  • Strong understanding of internet programming languages, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, PHP, and TWIG;
  • Proven experience administering Content Management System (CMS) based websites in platforms such as WordPress;
  • Ability to use source control tools (e.g., GIT);
  • Knowledge of API layer, security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, and logging;
  • Ability to write and edit technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments;
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell;
  • Computer Science degree, web development, or applications development degree preferred.
