Your Specific Responsibilities:
Regional EMS Coordinator
This is a professional position involvlng statewide coordination of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Workforce, Health, Safety and Wellness of the Bureau of Emergency Medlcal oversight (BEMO), EMS Section.
Conducts regional site visits with EMS providers assigned to establish a rapport, source of contact with the EMS Section, and a resource. Site visits will include regulatory compliance monitoring, quality improvement results of providers, sharing of resources avallable to the providers such as grants, upcoming training, access to QI data and other issues. Customer service excellence will be delivered throughout this process.
Evaluates, develops and implements EMS workforce, health, safety, and wellness strategies for the EMS section. Conducts site visits with governmental and non governmental programs delivering these services for EMS providers.
Conducts research on the current methodologies of EMS health, safety and wellness programs, based on this research develops and recommends programs to the section. Coordinates with other state agencies to build collaborative relationships. Works closely with other areas within the section to deliver training and support services.
Provides technical assistance and support to EMS staff and BEMO's Data Unit daily. Coordinates activities and plans with other units within the EMS section to ensure that their activities are mutually supportive and consistent with training and education goals and objectives.
Conceptualizes improved approaches for EMS workforce, health, safety, and wellness training, education, and regulation. Develops long-term, lntermediate and short-term plans, goals, objectives and activities for EMS workforce, health, safety and wellness training and education.
Serves as a EMS section's workforce, health, safety and wellness coordinator, and other championships as assigned.
Coordinates the development and implementation of EMS workforce, health, safety and wellness program goals and objectives within the goals of the EMS State Plan, EMS Advisory Council's workforce, health, safety and wellness adhoc committee, and the department.
Serves as an active participant in-state and national organizations involved in setting standards for EMS workforce, health, safety and wellness and paramedic educational programs, including but not limited to, the National EMS Management, National Association of EMTs and the Florida Coalition of Fireflghter's wellness and the Florida Paramedic Assocatlon.
Works in the State EOC during disasters, for evaluations, deployment, personnel, supplies and medlcal support. In addition, participates on the planning committee to develop evaluation, deployment, personnel and medical support and all other ESF8 needs.
Deployment to the field for assistance with the above areas before, during and after a disaster.
Prepares and maintains a desk manual (In conjunction with the position description) which serves to provide additional guidance and ready access to reference materials for anyone serving in this position.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) licensing, inspection, and investigations processes.
- Knowledge of the National Registry of EMT certification process.
- Knowledge of principles of Mobile Integrated Health/ Communitiy Paramedicine as it relates to Emergency Medical Services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to read, interrupt, and apply applicable EMS Florida Statutes and Rules.
- Ability to draft and propose policy, procedural, and rule changes.
- Ability to read and interrupt EMS quality metrics.
- Ability to develop recommendations and assist licensed EMS agencies in impletmenting quality improvement plans using clinical and operational quality metrics.
- Ability to research grant opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Driver License required.
- Valid State of Florida or Nationally Registered Paramedic certification required.
- Valid CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
Travel Time- 25-50%
