DECRIPTION:
The Boating Safety Specialist position is responsible for public outreach and self-initiated, independent work relating to Florida's boating safety program. This is work providing administrative support by answering incoming calls, preparing reports, handling information requests, assisting constituents and performing administrative and clerical functions such as preparing correspondence and answering e-mails.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY:
$15.00 per hour / up to 40 hours per week
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Assists in answering main Boating & Waterways Section telephone line.
Issues boating safety ID cards.
Answers questions from applicants interested in the temporary certificate program.
Assists FWC Temporary Certificate Program contractors.
Coordinates with sub-contractor processing new applicants for the temporary certificate program.
Assists with implementation and management of boating safety awareness campaigns statewide.
Prepares and maintains records and reports, such as recommendations for solutions of administrative problems, reports, financial reports, applications and administrative orders.
Files, maintains, arranges for storage, retrieves or reproduces documents, records and reports.
Reviews, assigns, prepares and tracks correspondence assignments.
Maintains various databases.
Analyzes operating practices and procedures to improve workflow, simplify reporting procedures and/or implement cost savings.
Reads and responds to correspondence.
Assists with preparation of publications and other materials.
