Minimum Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in project or operational management, including procedural development, program planning, data processing, or data management, or secretarial or clerical work experience; or
- College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience; or
- Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies or data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience; or
- A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET) Monday through Friday.
Work at the FWC is cross-functional, meaning duties may cross Division/Office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC's organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.
Valid US Driver’s License – travel is rare and will not exceed 25%.
The preferred office location is in Tallahassee, but we may consider other locations in Florida.
OPS Employment Description: The position is classified as an OPS (Other Personnel Services) position. The position may work between 25 and 40 hours per week depending on workload and is paid for the number of hours worked rather than a salaried position. There is potential for participation in state health insurance benefits.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network has the perfect entry-level position for you. The FWC is seeking a self-motivated, outgoing, outcome-oriented individual to fill an entry-level Other Personal Services position to coordinate special projects, manage a customer service management system, design website content, and assist the FYCCN team with technology-based topics. The position plays a vital role in supporting FYCCN’s mission by managing data, streamlining digital tools, and ensuring smooth operations across our programs through uniform procedures. This position is ideal for someone who is systems-minded and enjoys organizing information, improving processes, and supporting staff and partners effectively. The FWC is seeking a creative and self-motivated individual to assist with problem-solving, organization, and communication to support and enhance how the FYCCN tracks participation, partnerships, and program impact. An interest in graphic design is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and manage the FYCCN database using customer relationship management tools like Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365;
- Organize and track data related to summer camps, conservation programs, volunteer participation, and partnerships;
- Collect, review, and organize sales data from payment processing system and CRM to generate reports on sales trends;
- Develop and update data visualization reports to support decision-making;
- Monitor data dashboards to identify potential issues, troubleshoot errors, and support data accuracy;
- Work independently on special projects and/or assist in directing and completing special projects or other activities as needed by the supervisor;
- Assist internal and external database users, including the public registering for events on a public-facing webpage;
- Assess database needs based on feedback from staff, stakeholders, and leadership, and recommend improvements;
- Communicate database errors and enhancement requests to CRM developers, ensuring staff needs are clearly documented;
- Create instructional guides and training materials to help staff navigate and effectively use relevant technologies;
- Oversee website updates to ensure content remains relevant, engaging, and user-friendly;
- Ensure compliance with data security and system requirements;
- Utilize graphic design skills to create engaging outreach materials, social media content, and webpage items, where applicable;
- Manage files across multiple storage platforms to ensure proper organization, accessibility, and security;
- Ensure all work aligns with the principles of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation;
- Perform tasks with the FYCCN and FWC conservation and engagement missions in mind;
- Performing other work as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic to expert experience with database management via a customer relationship management system, specifically Salesforce and Dynamics 365;
- Proficiency in Microsoft software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft SharePoint and Teams;
- Knowledge of or ability to learn website management using content management systems, preferably Umbraco;
- Interest in wildlife conservation and educating others;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
- Ability to communicate effectively;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work with people having varied backgrounds, knowledge, and system requirements;
- Ability to compile, collect, and organize data;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures;
- Ability to provide excellent customer services to internal and external stakeholders;
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and proactiveness;
- Ability to multi-task effectively by planning and prioritizing work assignments;
- Interest in graphic design;
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while balancing changes in workload.
