 Your Specific Responsibilities:

The Office of Minority Health is hiring an OPS Training and Research Consultant - Training Program Team Lead that is responsible for providing team leadership and programmatic support for coordinating and implementing trainings and technical assistance to improve public health professionals' and partners' skills, abilities, and competencies to design and improve public health programs.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This position supports the OMH's activities related to the Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce and Data Systems grant (CDC-RFA-OE22-2203). The incumbent will need the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully do the following:

  • Provide additional oversight to prepare accurate timely submission of all grant reports, attend required meetings and monitor milestone deliverables.
  • Coordinate training needs analysis based on sound instructional design models and practices.
  • Report and share with training team and leadership public health policies and trends about workforce capacity, competencies and research findings.
  • Identify and promote training and technical assistance needs, gaps and opportunities for the public health workforce and academia, community health and social service providers by conducting surveys, engaging with potential partners and researching current data and trends.
  • Provide logistics support for team to deliver statewide trainings and technical guidance.
  • Maintain an inventory of training opportunities to support workforce competency and enhance recruitment and retention efforts of a qualified workforce.
  • Identify improvement strategies for effective delivery of trainings.
  • Support the development of training procedure manuals and guides for the agency.
  • Attends educational programs/seminars to keep abreast of current workforce development trends and resources.
  • Perform other project management duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with 1-3 years of professional work experience in one or more of the following fields: public health, public administration, or health administration.
    • College education can substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.
