The Work You Will Do:

 

Join our Organizational Development Office (ODO) and help deliver meaningful learning experiences that empower employees to grow and succeed. In this dynamic role, you’ll deliver training sessions, assist in the design of engaging training programs, and collaborate with teams to deliver impactful development initiatives for adult learners.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Serve as an Organizational Development Office trainer responsible for instructing and facilitating professional development courses designed to enhance employee knowledge, skills, and performance in support of the Department’s mission and strategic goals. Apply effective adult learning principles and instructional strategies to clearly communicate subject matter. Utilize a variety of instructional resources, including program and instructor guides, job aids, presentation tools and equipment, and multimedia technologies. Maintain knowledge of current training best practices and instructional technologies to ensure effective course delivery and to troubleshoot technical issues as needed. Complete class administrative work for successful facilitation of courses and programs.

Serve as a subject matter expert in adult learning and training facilitation. Review, evaluate, and provide input on professional development programs and materials, and develop tools and resources as needed to support program objectives. Coordinate with district professional development staff to address training needs and ensure consistency across the Department. Conduct data collection and research to support the development of new programs and the enhancement of existing offerings in alignment with organizational development goals. When applicable, assist with training other trainers to help develop their skillset.

Coordinate and collaborate with external vendors to support and enhance organizational development programs, providing essential support by managing logistics, facilitating communication, tracking deliverables, and ensuring successful implementation.

Support learning and development initiatives by assisting with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of programs, processes, and supporting materials, as well as the coordination and planning of course schedules and event logistics. Provide support to all ODO efforts.

 

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of professional development media and delivery options (instructor-led, virtual, interactive web-based, self-study, and assessment products).
  • Knowledge of industry concepts and practices relating to adult learning theories and principles.
  • Knowledge of quality management, assessment, and analytical process and practices.
  • Knowledge of instructional design.
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods.

Skills in:

  • Skill in managing self and taking pride in providing exceptional customer service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity.
  • Skill in working in a dynamic environment requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills.

Other Job-Related Requirements:

  • 50% Travel may be required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Five years of professional or nonprofessional experience in instruction, instructional design, public speaking, program research, and planning, or organizational or staff development. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of the required experience.
