What will I be doing?

This position is in the Bureau of Purchasing and Contracts within the Division of Administrative Services (DAS).  DAS provides administrative support and services to our nearly 5,000 employees throughout the state.  The Bureau of Purchasing and Contracts oversees the department’s purchasing, contracting, and leasing transactions through issuance of competitive procurements, purchase request approvals, and lease executions. 

This position will serve as the department’s PCard Administrator and will oversee all aspects of the PCard program, including issuing and deactivating cards, monitoring PCard activity for compliance, reviewing reports for inappropriate activity, updating the PCard policy manual, and acting as the liaison with the PCard issuer.

In addition, this position will process purchase requisitions in MFMP.


Preferred Qualifications:

Note:  Preference will be given to applicants with work experience with the following: PCard procedures, Microsoft Excel, reviewing and reconciling reports, customer service, and MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) experience. 


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of Chapters 112, 215, and 287, Florida Statutes.
  • Knowledge of Florida Administrative Code, Section 60-A.
  • Skill in reviewing and analyzing data for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.


General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.

The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months.  Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement in order to be considered for that vacancy.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
