Duties and Responsibilities
This position is the Team Lead within the Benefits and Member Services office. In this position, you will play a critical role in assisting members with information on insurance, benefit/retirement options, and processing updates to the State of Florida's human resource information system (HRIS), People First. The incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance, training, and support to our members regarding insurance, benefits, and retirement options. You will utilize traditional and creative tools to present clear and up to date information to our members. You will be responsible for documenting and researching information using an HRIS and evaluating requests to ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for identifying issues and making changes that enhance, streamline and simplify processes, approaches and tools. This position will utilize and monitor key metrics and conduct research to provide up-to-date information to Department members.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Experience providing customer service to answer questions and resolve issues
- Experience in presenting information to customers one on one and in agroup
- Ability to work independently, but also with other HR members in the agency
- Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance under stressful conditions
- Experience in data entry and reconciliation
Job Related Requirements
- The position you are applying to is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
