Your Specific Responsibilities:
General Purpose: Provide expertise in human resource management that conform with sound organizational principles and consistency with rules and regulations that supports optimal department operations.
Classification
- Independently analyzes, prepares, and finalizes classification packages.
- Prepares transmittal for the budget office to approve actions.
- Analyze, review, and assist in recommending approval/disapproval of pay change requests.
- Investigate and analyze problems and concerns relative to classification, pay, and position control.
- Updates and maintains (HRIS) human resource information system to keep accurate records of agency positions.
Consultation and Technical Assistance
- Research rules and statutes as necessary for organization structure, position exemptions and other inclusions/exclusions before advising on requests.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to agency by responding to questions and providing interpretations of the state and agency rules and policy.
- Make recommendations that prevent rule violations to leadership, managers, supervisors, and Liaison’s classification and organization structure request.
Acts as back up for Reporting responsibilities such as:
- Generates and posts monthly personnel reports, revising when necessary.
- Generates ad hoc reports.
- Updates human resource information system (HRIS) data warehouse in accordance with established procedures.
- Distributes HRIS correspondence regarding alerts, general correspondence, system enhancements to other users to adjust their reports as required.
- Monitor and maintain the position control and funding identification system for the agency by automated process by ensuring all positions reflect correct funding sources and that records are accurately updated.
Acts as back up for Job Advertisement responsibilities such as:
- In collaboration with hiring managers, creates and provides job advertisements to People First for posting as needed.
Assists in special projects or critical situations as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the State of Florida Classification/Broadband System
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the current State Personnel Human Resource System
- Extensive knowledge of organization structures
- Proficient customer service and computer skills, including proficiency with web based applications and report writing software
- Ability to apply organization design principles to specific Department needs
- Ability to conduct desk audits and prepare audit results
- Ability to prepare and understand organization charts
- Ability to present complex data and information in an understandable and compelling manner
- Ability to work independently and be detail oriented
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
