MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or its equivalent and five (5) years of professional or non-professional experience in human resources within the State Personnel System.

JOB DUTIES:
Consults with employees regarding general attendance and leave questions; advises employees regarding leave and time worked, assists with timesheet entries and adjustments.
Separates employees from payroll; obtains and verifies documentation, confirms time reported on the final timesheet, processes the payroll action, audits leave and determines eligibility for payment or transfer of leave, processes leave transfers.
Completes leave audits for employees going into DROP, and separating, and for payment of Special Compensatory leave, FLSA leave, and 24-hour annual leave payouts; reviewing timesheets and leave balances and confirming the amount of leave payable.
Monitors leave without pay (LWOP) for each payroll deadline; generates reports of LWOP before and after payroll deadlines, assist employees with approving LWOP on timesheets prior to payroll deadline, obtains reports of LWOP after the payroll deadline, determines if an employee has been overpaid due to LWOP, and processes salary overpayment calculations and collections for LWOP or other reasons identified during the regular course of business.
Processes military leaves of absences; consults with employees, receives military orders, processes the payroll action, and audits the use of military leave.
Processes housing payroll deductions.
Completes employment verification forms on behalf of employees.
Maintains files; creates well documented records of actions processed, and scans or uploads records into the agency’s electronic files.
Serves as a backup to the Personnel Technician III, assisting with Family and Medical Leave Act, and Family Supportive Work Program requests, as well as Paid Parental Leave, Sick Leave Pool and Sick Leave Transfer cases, as necessary.
Performs other related duties as required.
