JOB SUMMARY: This is a highly responsible position that acts as a Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Coordinator in the Office of Workforce Management (OWM) providing HR consulting services for the Department of Revenue employees and collaborating with the Division of State Group Insurance and Risk Management.

Job duties include:

  • Insurance Support for Employees on Leave: Maintain pre-tax insurance benefits for employees on leave or transferring agencies, process refund requests, and coordinate across state agencies as needed.
  • Open Enrollment Coordination: Act as the primary contact for the Department’s open enrollment period, attend meetings, review open enrollment details, and assist with related communications.
  • Insurance Verification and Vendor Arrangements: Assist with insurance coverage verification requests, coordinate with vendors, and arrange vendor meetings on campus.
  • Workers' Compensation Coordination: Act as the subject matter expert, provide guidance on claims, and ensure consistent handling of Workers’ Compensation cases.
  • Claim Updates and Resolution: Provide status updates on Workers’ Compensation claims and recommend actions for claim resolutions to facilitate employee return-to-work efforts.
  • Injury Reporting and Compliance: Process injury reports, assist supervisors and employees with reporting procedures, and forward reports potentially qualifying for FMLA to the FMLA/FSWP Administrator.
  • Timesheet Management: Manage timesheets for employees on Workers’ Compensation leave.
  • Training and Policy Support: Develop and deliver Workers’ Compensation and safety training, participate in policy reviews, and provide recommendations for procedural updates.
  • Website and Communication Review: Review benefits pages and communications and recommend updates to the Benefits Manager.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties, including special projects or cross-functional support, as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Two (2) or more years of human resources experience, applying rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for employees and management.
  • Knowledge of State Group Insurance and Workers' Compensation rules and regulations.
  • Proven experience in writing HR-related correspondence and ability to verbally communicate processes and required standards to customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and analysis reports using various technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other software programs.

PREFERENCES:

  • At least one (1) year of experience working within the People First System.
  • Hands-on experience with State Insurance.
  • Experience collaborating with the Division of Risk Management on Workers' Compensation issues.

SALARY: $48,000.00 - $49,000.08.
