JOB SUMMARY:

The Florida Department of Revenue is seeking qualified candidates to join its Office of Employee Relations as a Personnel Services Specialist. This Selected Exempt Service position plays a key role in supporting managers, supervisors, and employees on a variety of employee relations matters. This role requires strong critical thinking and analysis skills, organization, attention to detail, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Employee Relations email mailbox by distributing assignments to appropriate team members, responding to inquiries, and maintaining the tracking log.
  • Responds to reemployment assistance claims, questionnaires, and hearing notices, and processes quarterly invoices.
  • Provides support to Employee Relations functional areas, including corrective action, workplace accommodations, grievances, and Employee Assistance Program and Fitness for Duty referrals.
  • Prepares reports and responds to public records and data requests.
  • Assists the Employee Relations Manager with special projects, as assigned.
  • Processes Employee Relations case and file closures using internal systems and applications.
  • Assists with updating the internal website, communications, and training development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • One (1) year of professional experience in a human resources office.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce accurate, clear, and well-organized correspondence, reports, and other documentation.
  • Ability to analyze information, apply policies and procedures, and make sound recommendations.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

PREFERENCES:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in human resource management, law, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in employee relations or labor relations office handling corrective action processes, performance management, or workplace investigations.
  • Knowledge of Reemployment Assistance (Unemployment Compensation) processes, including claims and hearings.
  • Experience responding to public records requests and preparing reports.
  • Experience managing shared mailboxes or workflow tracking systems.
  • Experience developing or updating training materials, internal communications, or web content.

SALARY: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 / annually
