This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in the Office of Human Resources.
The mission of the Office of Human Resources at the Florida Department of Corrections is: To provide quality human resource services to our employees and the public, ensuring a diverse, skilled, and motivated workforce that supports the Department's mission of providing safety to the public and a safe and humane environment for offenders.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Be the go-to expert for SSU promotions, laterals, and demotions. Evaluate and implement personnel rules, ensuring all staff are up to date with the latest changes and enforcing Union Contract criteria.
- Manage the entire SSU promotional process, from advertising vacancies and prescreening applicants to developing scoresheets, sending interview questions, grading scores, and approving interview panels.
- Handle Personnel Action Requests (PAR) for SSU promotions and demotions, and resolve any issues with application submissions, reviews, and data tracking. Provide technical assistance as needed.
- Develop and deliver training on the SSU Promotional Process and create and implement personnel policies and procedures for the Department.
- Use various computer programs to compile and maintain reports on SSU promotions and recruitment activities. Maintain an extensive electronic filing system, handle public records requests, and ensure timely completion of training and other duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

- One (1) year of professional human resources, administrative or clerical experience(Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 1 year of the required experience).
