The Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is seeking a Personnel Technician III to join our Bureau of Personnel Services. In this role, you will support both internal team members and external stakeholders while helping to shape the future of our workforce.

 

Position Overview

As part of the Recruitment team, you’ll play a pivotal role in the recruitment and selection of FLHSMV members. You will collaborate closely with hiring managers and provide guidance, training, and support throughout every step of the hiring process. Your efforts will help ensure that FLHSMV attracts, selects, and hires top talent statewide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist hiring managers through all phases of the recruitment and selection process.
  • Process requests to advertise vacancies and post job requisitions.
  • Review and sort candidate pools to support informed hiring decisions.
  • Conduct compliance reviews of hiring packets to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an FLHSMV representative at recruitment, job fair, and networking events as needed.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a human resource-related function.
  • Experience delivering customer service, resolving issues, and providing recommendations.
  • Experience with merit-based recruitment and structured hiring processes.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and human resource information systems (HRIS).
  • Experience in compliance, audit, or other regulatory functions.

 

Job Related Requirements

The position you are applying for is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.  Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all of an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.

General Information

To be considered for this position, applicant responses to qualifying questions must be clearly stated within the employment history. Software systems, actual work experience, and years of employment history must be clearly defined, or the application may not be considered.

 

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

 

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
