JOB SUMMARY:

This highly responsible position is located in the Office of Workforce Management (OWM) Human Resource Office and provides Human Resource consulting services to the Department of Revenue related to Attendance and Leave Programs and Benefits. Duties include:

  • Process Sick Leave Pool (SLP) and Sick Leave Transfer (SLT) cases.
  • Conduct separation leave audits for separating employees.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports and forms for employees, and vendors regarding attendance and leave.
  • Manage the Ask Benefits email account and route customer to appropriate staff for review and response.
  • Provide technical assistance to managers and supervisors regarding attendance and leave in the People First System and FLAIR.
  • Provide the Benefits Manager with input and recommendations for updates to policies and procedures, standard operating procedures (SOP) webpage information, and pre-formatted communications and articles.
  • Assist with the developing employee training materials, communications, and forms related to attendance and leave.
  • Perform other related duties as required, including special projects, annual leave related tasks, and assisting in other areas as resources are needed or assigned by management.
  • Serve as the Department Leave Without Pay Coordinator.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • At least one (1) year of experience working in an office environment, with demonstrated ability to apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to work tasks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and work professionally as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers regarding processes and required standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting established deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel), and the ability to quickly learn additional software and technologies as needed.

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience working in a Human Resources office.
  • Experience using the People First system within a Florida State Agency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Rule 60L-34, Florida Administrative Code.
  • Experience processing the State of Florida’s Sick Leave Programs.

SALARY: $44,259.96 / annually
