The Work You Will Do:

This is a Planner I position within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Waste Management. The selected candidate will provide contract and procurement support to the Petroleum Restoration Program in the Agency Term Contracts section. 

 

The Difference You Will Make:

This position is critical in the cleanup of petroleum contaminated facilities in Florida.  The PRP Program provides funding to conduct activities to protect the State’s natural resources and drinking water along with the health and welfare of the citizens of Florida.  The Planner I will work with the Administration, Site Managers, and Contract Managers to provide contract and procurement support to the Petroleum Restoration Program.

Pay:

Salary: $33,760.00 - $37,800.00 (Commensurate with experience)

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • This position provides contract and procurement support to the Petroleum Restoration Program in the Agency Term Contracts section. 

 

  • Purchase Requisition Creator which will include activities such as reviewing scopes of work, schedules of pay items, figures and tables for consistency and formatting. Utilizing reviewed document to create Purchase Requisitions in Ariba On Demand.  Working with Site Managers to address issues and corrections in order to submit accurate documents in a timely manner for approval.

 

  • Change Order Processing which will include activities such as reviewing Request for Change documents for consistency and pricing.  Utilizing reviewed document to enter changes to executed Purchase Orders in Ariba On Demand.  Working with Site Managers to address issues and corrections in order to submit accurate change requests in a timely manner for approval.

 

  • Tracking and Reporting for Petroleum Restoration Program Procurement and Agency Term Contractor Activities.

 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to respond to public or management requests and support the Petroleum Restoration Program.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Knowledge of My Florida Marketplace, E-Quote, SAMAS Flair process and procedures.
  • Knowledge of contract administration and cost monitoring; local, state, and federal regulations relevant to the administration of federal or state funds
  • Knowledge of office policies and procedures
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in writing, editing and report writing techniques; record keeping and records management
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with public officials, private organizations, and the general public
  • Ability to organize and complete work assignments under pressure of time and shifting priorities
  • Ability to work independently, as well as work well with others
  • Ability to use personal computers
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university; or Any combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described above, for a total of two years.

 

Other Job-Related Requirements for this position: 

  • A Valid Driver’s License.
