Duties and Responsibilities

This position is a member of the Office of Motorist Modernization and will be responsible for the evaluation of current Motorist Systems and make recommendations for future systems that will be designed by the Office of Motorist Modernization.

 

This position will support the modernization effort by analyzing the current systems and providing recommendations on the design of new system(s) that will meet the needs of the business units. The Modernization Business Analyst will work closely with the team leads, senior business analysts and subject matter experts in the definition of business requirements. This position is required to have a strategic focus and excel at working in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will also be given to applicants who have experience with:

  • Knowledge of basic computer programming concepts such as configuration, development, and batch processing
  • Experience with agile software development, including Scrum.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server/DevOps or similar work item tracking system.
  • Ability to process information logically.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under deadlines.
  • Able to root out an issue and provide options to internal and external stakeholders.

Job Related Requirements

  • The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.  Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged. 
  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., although working overtime during the week and on weekends may occasionally be required.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.  Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
