POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for oversight of the Information Delivery and Education section within the Compliance & Education Bureau. Responsible for supervision of staff and incumbent spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work. This position has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Providing management, motivation, direction and coordination of the Section by planning workloads, deadlines, objectives and prioritization of projects;
- Coordinating the design and delivery of all aspects of criminal justice information systems training; ensures appropriate curriculum development; prepares training staff;
- Facilitating the CJIS Annual Training Symposium;
- Coordinating activities throughout the state to ensure consultation with local, state and federal agencies throughout the state relating to criminal justice information program planning is effective and consistent;
- Exercising independent judgment in formulating or assessing policies and procedures impacting these agencies, ensures that Florida criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies are aware of changes;
- Ensuring that revisions of manuals and training material incorporate any updates of law and policy; provides information to the criminal justice community using training, technical memoranda, newsletters, regional meetings and personal or telephone contact;
- Coordinating the development or assistance to criminal justice agencies in identifying data collection needs, record layouts, data definitions, program policies and procedures for implementation requirements, and the writing of professional manuals as required and the consultation to the users during the implementation and testing phases;
- Conducting and prepares accurate and complete research and analysis reports and documents describing management consultant and planning activities relative to objectives established by the CJIS Director; and
- Representing the Department in a professional manner in meetings, workshops, conferences, committees and special working groups by being prepared, arriving on time, and actively participating as directed by supervisor.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least three years of supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
- Ability to supervise people;
- Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
- Ability to work independently; and
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

BASE SALARY:
- $75,643.36
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
