Duties and Responsibilities
As an Analytical Support Data Steward, you will play a significant role in allowing members to make decisions on process and data quality improvements and increase or improve efficiencies for the agency. To accomplish this goal your duties may include: Bundling and maintaining a library of data-based assets such as Tableau data source, database models, relationship diagrams and data such as Tableau data source, database models, relationship diagrams and data dictionaries supporting the functions of the Office of Analytical Support (OAS). Conducting research, creating, and managing data sources, analyzing data, engaging stakeholders, and conducting workshops with members.Understanding and documenting how department systems write and store data to department databases. Developing and maintaining a blueprinting report for reach report in the data library.Performing maintenance and support of new and existing data sources, reports, and dashboards. Working with technology teams to manage changes to department systems and impacting to department data models. Providing specific recommendations on data quality and data privacy standards to data owners within the department.

This includes driver history records, investigation reports, FLHSMV policies and procedures, administrative rules, and Florida statutes.
- Reasoning, Critical Thinking, and Judgment – must be able to weigh and evaluate a variety of data and statistical information and consider numerous factors while making sound, well-informed, and objective decisions based on case information, testimony, evidence, and established laws and regulations.
- Discretion and Integrity – must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion, maintain the confidentiality of information, and uphold the integrity of the administrative review process.
- Technology Application – must be able to proficiently operate a computer and associated systems/applications such as Microsoft Office applications, Tableau, SQL programming language and possess the aptitude to learn new software.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), or other programming language used in retrieving and managing data.
- Experience using Tableau, or other similar statistical reporting software Customer service experience dealing with customer complaints, inquiries and/or problem resolution.
Job Related Requirements
- This position is subject a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal history records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 10.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged.
- This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing. This means there can be no cancellations, suspensions, or revocations for a minimum of three years prior to employment and for the duration of employment. There can be no more than three chargeable crashes or any violation of Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, during any consecutive three-year period prior to and throughout employment.
- Day and overnight travel are required for up to 7 or more consecutive days at a time.
General Information
- The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
- Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
