Description of Position:


Serve as the continuity of operations planner for the Department to include coordinating with division COOP coordinators to develop and maintain mission essential functions, maintain the Department's COOP plan, and coordinate development of COOP training activities.


Develop tools, templates, processes and requirements for gathering, analyzing and reporting resources status during incidents in alignment with incident command system principles This includes providing training for personnel assigned to resource tracking functions during incidents.


Maintain the content of the webpages, plans repository and other electronic platforms used for incident management, in coordination with the Systems Integration Section, to assure tools needed for State ESF8 are accessible online.



Develop and maintain state-level public health and medical emergency response operational, tactical and contingency plans, policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state and Department of Health guidelines. This includes facilitation of multi-disciplinary planning teams.



Prepare to serve as a member of the Department’s Incident Management Team through personal and professional readiness, participation in training and exercises, and development of position specific tools and resources.



Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to coordinate program designed to ensure the resolution of managerial and operational problems.

  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
