POSITION SUMMARY:

This position serves as the lead worker for all aspects of the FDLE Print Shop, and reports to the Administrative Services Manager within the Office of General Services, Support Services Section.  This position performs skilled work with independent performance under limited supervision. This position is required to facilitate communication and collaboration among FDLE members, professional organizations, other governmental agencies, and vendors.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Reviewing all requests for printing and composition and makes recommendations on the most economical and efficient method to achieve the desired results;
  • Contacting requesters to clarify their needs and verify the rescheduled completion date if necessary;
  • Working in coordination with the Art Editor in the Criminal Justice Professionalism Division who provides necessary design/artwork for reproduction;
  • Accounting accurately for production time and materials;
  • Ensuring accuracy of print request pricing for Journal Transfer purposes and keeping the chargeback cost sheet for the print shop up to date for Quick Books invoicing and inventory;
  • Being responsible for the operations and maintenance of all equipment in the print shop;
  • Maintaining inventory, stocking, and reordering points of print shop supplies to include paper, toner, ink and other related items by obtaining the required quotes and preparing request for approval by the supervisor; and
  • Coordinating the reproduction schedule for duplicating and printing requests submitted by FDLE programs, and the inventorying and chargebacks to program area for services rendered using Quick Books.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of printing, duplicating and reproduction functions;
  • Knowledge of printing machinery and equipment;
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics;
  • Ability to use print shop equipment;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to prepare administrative reports and correspondence; and
  • Ability to use personal computer and calculator.

 

BASE SALARY:

  • $ 43,260.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
