The starting salary for this position is $52,331.60
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of accounting systems. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to utilize application software and web applications. Ability to research and interpret accounting literature, rules, and pronouncements. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to utilize databases such as Microsoft Access. Proficient in Microsoft Office software – Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position has responsibilities involving procedures adopted by the Department, Division, and Bureau. The procedures are part of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and, if needed, improve these controls and procedures in the performance of duties within the Bureau of Financial Reporting.
Assist in coordinating and conducting the activities involved in the preparation of the Florida Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Compile, review, and update assigned parts of the financial statements and notes. Review and input adjusting entries into Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) as assigned. Assess agency compliance with statewide financial reporting requirements.
Assist with projects of the Statewide Financial Reporting Section to promote the most efficient and effective completion of the ACFR. Evaluate current processes and research best practices of similar entities. Assist with initiation and completion of projects to update current processes.
Assist in developing accounting policies, which will be applicable to all state agencies. Assist in preparing and developing training/class materials, technical communications with state agencies and responses of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and other professional communications.
