Preferences:
- Experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields.
- Professional experience in disbursements (accounts payable).
- Professional experience in reviewing, managing or monitoring contracts and or grants.
- Professional experience interpreting and applying laws, rules and agency policy.
- Experience auditing, analyzing, and processing complex contracts/grants with a focus on contract deliverables, method of payment, and scope of work.
- Experience auditing, analyzing and processing all types of disbursement transactions for compliance with Florida Statutes, Administrative Rules Attorney General Opinions, Chief Financial Officer/Comptroller’s Memoranda, and processing procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience using Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Ability to understand, interpret and apply State & Federal laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to work from a concept and develop logical conclusions and recommendations. Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing. Ability to independently plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:

The base annual salary for this position is $49,839.59.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position has responsibilities involving procedures adopted by the Department, Division, and Bureau. The procedures are part of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and if needed, improve these controls and procedures in the performance of duties within the Bureau of Auditing.
This is a professional accounting/auditing position involving the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theories and technical skills. This position is responsible for independently auditing and processing complex disbursement vouchers and reviewing contracts/grants. The duties are:
Conducts reviews of state agency contracts and grants according to established Bureau of Auditing criteria. Provides a written report of analysis to Bureau management.
Conducts Expanded Audits of Payments (EAPs) of state expenditures and disbursements in accordance with approved audit plans. Provides a written report of analysis to Bureau management.
Audits and processes State agencies’ vouchers and MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) payment requests to ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal requirements.
Performs research, analyzes problems, and develops recommended actions.
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
