SPECIAL NOTES:

A High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.

 

Preferences:

  • Two (2) years of professional payroll, accounting and auditing experience or a post-secondary degree which may be used as an alternative for years of experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience performing accounting/auditing related duties.
  • Payroll and accounting experience.
  • Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel.
  • Experience with Conducting Compliance audits.
  • Experience auditing timesheet information.
  • Professional experience with payroll audits.
  • Professional experience compiling and analyzing fiscal data.

 

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities.
  • Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Responsible for providing assistance with and participating in statewide quality assurance reviews to determine compliance within payroll system requirements.
  • Communicate and provide assistance to state agency personnel offices and organizational units to improve management capabilities and operational procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting team members with audit concept reviews.
  • Responsible for producing professional reports in final formatting.
  • Audit, analyze and document internal controls.
