Professional experience in disbursements (i.e. accounts payable) is required.

 

Preferences:

  • Three (3) or more years working with a State agency within the State Personnel System.
  • Three (3) or more years reviewing and analyzing State agency contracts and agency agreements.
  • Experience conducting audits.
  • Three (3) or more years of professional experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, and agency policies.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.

 

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL

Knowledge and application of accounting and auditing principles and procedures, including basic management principles and practices. Ability to identify, analyze and review accounting systems requirements; to identify and define user task needs; to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; to work independently; to establish and maintain effective relationships with others; to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing; and to provide appropriate direction for processing and handling electronic commerce transactions. Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, to solve problems to document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; to conduct fact-finding research; and to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to use appropriate software and mainframe tools to develop queries; to understand, interpret, and apply warehouse data; to perform mathematical calculations; and to train participating agency personnel in developing queries. Ability to understand and assess internal controls in manual and automated systems; to identify appropriate areas for improvement; and to communicate the findings accurately and effectively.

 

 

This position does not support the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) Optional Practical Training (OPT) program.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is a professional accounting/auditing position within the Enterprise Purchasing Card (PCard) Administrator’s team. This position will conduct post-audits of PCard charges, monitoring the 10-day PCard Charge Aging Report, Reviewing Agency PCard plans and responding to agency requests related to PCard charges.
