High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional requirements:
- Experience utilizing, maintaining, and analyzing data.
- Experience with data reconciliation.
- Experience working with Governmental accounting records.
- Experience analyzing information in a structured format, utilizing traditional and/or computer-based tools for data analysis.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business Major.
- Two (2) or more years of professional accounting experience.
- Experience with preparing or reviewing Financial Statements.
Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of accounting systems. Knowledge of internal control concepts. Knowledge of the methods of compiling and analyzing data. Knowledge of supervisory and administrative principles and practices.

SPECIAL NOTES:
This is an in-office Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week position with no telework offered.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This is a professional position. It includes responsibilities linked to procedures adopted by the Department, the Division, and the Bureau. The Procedures are of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and if needed, improve these controls and suggest updates to the procedures in the performance of duties. This position will assist the Administrator to efficiently and effectively achieve all operating objectives. This position will also assist the Administrator in accomplishing the Chief Financial Officer’s constitutional and statutory duties of accounting for state funds.
Assists the Financial Administrator (FA) in coordinating and conducting the activities involved in designing and conducting research, analyzing data to find risks, trends, and insights. Responsible for efficiently handling and executing query requests. Assist in creating comprehensive reports and presentations for State Agencies and internal stakeholders. Includes conducting audits, maintaining records, training staff, and proposing issue resolutions. Works in developing and maintaining databases.
Assist in developing accounting policies, which will apply to all state agencies. Maintains written Bureau and desk procedures. Monitors for Legislative actions impacting both state and local governments to ensure compliance with the action. Perform other related duties as assigned.
