**Anticipated Vacancy**
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of regulatory and administrative processes and providing services to support the Florida Board of Massage Therapy and the Florida Council of Licensed Midwifery. The incumbent will be supervised by the Board Executive Director and must use discretion and independent judgment when performing the following duties and responsibilities:
- Analyze, formulate, and recommend proposals to rules and legislation relevant to the Board of Massage Therapy and Council of Licensed Midwifery; Research, analyze and develop new policies and procedures to efficiently and effectively implement Board, Department and legislative directives; Assist in the development of systems and direct the implementation of legislative amendments to applicable Florida Statutes which establish new or additional requirements for licensure.
- Manage the preparation of agendas for Board and Council meetings; Travel to and represent the Board and/or the Department at Board or related meetings at least four times per year.
- Review enforcement and compliance data as part of the licensure process for the Board of Massage Therapy and Council of Licensed Midwifery.
- Schedule, notice, and recruit members to serve on Probable Cause Panels, in accordance with administrative procedures.
- Research laws, rules and regulations in preparing statistical and other data reports relating to licensure, discipline, budget and other functions of the Board within established guidelines.
- Participate in the Board office management and leadership team; Assume lead responsibility for special projects and activities as assigned and coordinate functions with other team members, as needed; Function as Acting Board Executive Director in the absence of the Executive Director.
- Serve as supervisor for a total team of eight (8) staff, including being the direct supervisor for two (2). Supervisory duties include motivating employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed and retain them as staff; planning workloads, workflows, deadlines, and work objectives to ensure the best use of time and resources; evaluating employees through establishing evaluation expectations and responsibilities; training employees in methods for performing an effective and efficient job and ensuring staff receive necessary training; participating in the hiring and selection process for vacant positions; taking disciplinary or promotional actions as appropriate; and guaranteeing staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis and staff use effective methods to maintain communication within the Board office.
- Communicate verbally and in writing to provide guidance to educators, applicants, licensees and the public regarding the statutory, rule, and policy requirements of the regulatory process.
- Evaluate policies and procedures, identify issues requiring attention, conduct necessary research and analyses, and recommend changes to management to improve processes and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for the Position
- Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
- Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to type with sufficient speed to transcribe meeting minutes.
- Ability to complete editorial reviews of documents for errors.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those who meet the following minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years administrative experience that includes data entry, document preparation, computer software use, travel arrangement preparation, and/or personnel and budget review. College education can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), iBuilder, iViewer, Adobe Acrobat, and LEIDS systems.
