Job Description/Duties & Responsibilities
The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect the productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance at work is an essential job function. Additionally, the employee will be responsible for:
- Review the financial audits of charter schools to determine whether the school must develop a financial corrective action plan with its district sponsors.
- Initiate the corrective action plan process for charter schools and act as an intermediary between schools and districts regarding this process.
- Monitor the process whereby charter schools in need of academic correction have provided and are implementing plans to districts.
- Assist with the development of technical assistance papers for the tasks described above.
- Assist the Education Policy Director and Charter Schools Director with the management of state contracts, as they pertain to the legislative appropriation various entities receive.
- Supervise or assist with projects as assigned by the Charter Schools Director or the Education Policy Director.
- The employee will perform other duties as assigned.
- This role is not eligible for telework and requires an 8 hour workday between the hours of 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of computer software including applications (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to independently plan, organize and coordinate work assignments

- Ability to prepare, clear, concise and accurate records and reports
- Ability to communicate and deal with people effectively
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, policies and procedures
- Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes and FDOE rules and policies
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively including verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferences will be given to applicants who have excellent communication skills and experience working with financial audits, budgets, and contracts.
Educational Substitutions
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of budget or grant experience.

- Annual Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are be credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of initial appointment.
- Sick Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions shall be credited with 104 hours of sick leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of initial appointment.
