Additionally, the bureau coordinates student services throughout the state and participates in multiple inter-agency efforts designed to strengthen the quality and variety of services available to eligible students with disabilities.

Job Description

 This position is assigned to the Bureau Resource and Information Center (BRIC) to design and produce Bureau and project products. The position also provides technical assistance to project and Bureau personnel on the development of effective publications, and uses desktop publishing capabilities to produce public awareness, professional development, parent, presentation, and other materials for a variety of audiences. Employee’s time and effort is assigned to a dedicated function as is indicated on the monthly payroll. Attendance at work is an essential job function.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Provides editorial support and technical assistance to Bureau and project staff in developing effective publications related to exceptional student education and other special programs.

  • Proofreads, edits, rewrites, and revises publications
  • Ensures that products are consistent with FDOE and Bureau policy
  • Formats material in an attractive, easy-to-read, and accessible style

 

2.   Provides layout and publishing support to Bureau and project staff in developing effective publications for statewide dissemination.

  • Provides oversight, support, and leadership to ensure that published materials are attractive, accurate, and reader-friendly
  • Lays out and designs materials using professional publication software

 

3.   Participates as active member of SPP/APR Indicator/strategic planning team.

 

4.   Maintains and updates the Bureau style guide and trains Bureau staff to understand and follow it.

 

  1. Will assist other sections as related to their expertise.

 

  1. Maintains and updates 1B Florida Statutes and Rules and ensure that it is as current as possible in an electronic format

 

7.   Performs other related duties as assigned.

LEAVE INFORMATION:

    • Annual Leave - Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are be credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of initial appointment.
    • Sick Leave -. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions shall be credited with 104 hours of sick leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of initial appointment.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
