The Program Specialist IV in this role is responsible for supporting the management of processes and systems related to IDEA Part B General Supervision, including professional learning, data analysis, monitoring, and reporting. Key duties include coordinating the annual LEA Determinations process, organizing on-site monitoring visits, analyzing district data to guide tiered supports, and assisting with final reports. The role also supports the creation of data publications such as LEA profiles, the Databook, and the Annual Performance Report, coordinates BEESS strategic plan meetings, and serves as the section administrator for the General Supervision Website (GSW).

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions:
LEA On-Site Monitoring, Technical Assistance and Data Support:
- Analyze all district data and make recommendations for tiered support from BEESS that includes desktop and on-site monitoring.
 - Coordinate all activities for onsite monitoring, including notifying districts, scheduling the visit, creating the on-site agenda, reviewing and analyzing school level data to select schools, leading all pre-planning conference calls and activities related to the visit.
 - Serve in a primary role in BEESS’ annual compilation of data and production of data documents, including local educational agency (LEA) profiles, Databook, and the Annual Performance.
 
BEESS Strategic Plan and Stakeholder Support:
- Schedules and plans for quarterly strategic meetings with staff.
 
General Supervision Website (GSW):
- Section administrator with User administrative access for the Strategic Plan and Monitor for Performance components of the GSW.
 - Monitoring for Performance- Ensure that all districts visited and required actions are inputted each year for this component as well as coordinating with DRM on the collection of the required actions from the on-site final reports.
 
The ideal incumbent has a working knowledge and understanding of state rules and regulations regarding personnel management, someone who excels in working under tight timeframes with competing deadlines. Organizational skills and the ability to multitask are key to completing the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Preferences will be given to:
- Applicants who have direct experience in monitoring
 - Knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures in Exceptional Student Education

LEAVE INFORMATION: (CS)
- Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment.
 - Sick Leave - Career Service employees earn 8.667 hours of sick leave credits per month
