The purpose of Florida educator certification is to support the academic achievement of our students by assuring that our educators are professionally qualified for highly effective instruction. Florida educators must be certified to teach in our public schools and in many of our private schools. Educators include classroom teachers, school administrators, and other support professionals, such as guidance counselors and media specialists. Description:

General Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for maintaining an organized workspace.
- This position must work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
- This position assists with daily mail sorting and processing.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Florida Statutes and procedures for the receipt of teacher certification documentation.
- Coordinates with the Policy Unit on legislative changes that affect educator certification.
- Supervise the staff responsible for reviewing, classifying, and organizing incoming correspondence for appropriate distribution and for daily entry into the optical imaging system and the teacher certification database.
- Evaluate and schedule the flow of work within the records section to establish and implement work priorities to insure current processing of documents and data.
- Assist in the modification and management of electronic archival and retrieval filing system.
- Support the daily intake of applicant correspondence and applications to ensure documents are accurately entered into Versa.
- Develop and maintain desk guides for the Records Technician positions.
- Research, evaluate and implement electronic receipt mechanisms.
- Prepare documents in accordance with Bureau policies and procedures.
- Research alternative methods to obtain transcripts (non-paper).
- Maintain accurate documentation in an excel spreadsheet.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification experience.
- Technology and computer experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Office expertise.
- Previous experience working in a certification or data entry office setting.
- Experience with Versa software.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
