Peferences:
- Four years of professional experience is preferred. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for the years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Certified Project Management Professional
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).
- Experience with Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM).
- Experience in project management.
- Experience creating professional documentation (e.g., procedures, guidance).
- Experience facilitating or hosting meetings and workshops.
The annual salary for this position will range from $50,000.00 - $55,000.00
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing using appropriate English grammar. Competent public speaking skills. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Knowledge of FLAIR accounting operations and processes. Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, theory and concepts. Knowledge of computer systems concepts. Ability to research and interpret accounting literature, rules and pronouncements. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data. Ability to understand functional specifications for technical accounting applications. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position has responsibilities involving procedures adopted by the Department and Division. The procedures are part of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and if needed, improve these controls, and procedures in the performance of duties within the Division of Accounting and Auditing.
This position will coordinate business process enhancements and serve to support the Division with functional business activities to transition to a new State Accounting System as directed by the Division Director, Assistant Directors, and/or the Administrative Services Manager II.
Performs key activities needed for the Division to collaborate on and complete operational tasks in new accounting system. Identify stakeholders, review documents, document decisions, outcomes, and action items.
Performs key activities needed for the Division to transition to the new accounting system. Coordinate meeting with external stakeholders, including State Agency staff to gather information, communicate guidance, develop solutions, identity requirements, make recommendations, and monitor activities that will impact the Division's ability to transition to the accounting system. Coordinate with cross enterprise systems (e.g., MyFloridaMarketPlace, People First) to maintain alignment between the state’s accounting system and systems that interface with it.
Authorizes state agency Florida PALM Security Access Managers access. Audits Florida PALM access to confirm that assigned access does not have conflicting authority; works with requesting entity to resolve conflicts.
