MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

A High School Diploma or its equivalent and four (4) years of experience in property or inventory control.

 

College education from an institution can substitute at a rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience.

JOB DUTIES:

 

This position works both independently and with other administrative personnel, with a minimum of direct supervision.  The incumbent researches and gathers data to prepare written reports, monitors and maintains records of center property; provides property controls through assignment of inventory numbers, locations and disposal of all assigned state property; monitors acquisition, use and disposal of all federal excess property; independently initiates audits of all administrative aspects of center operations; maintains records of various administrative functions; and interprets applicable policies and procedures.

 

Ensures that all accountable property can be located, identified by marked property number, and that acquisition, disposal, and transfer of property is properly documented; coordinates periodic and unscheduled physical inventories of accountable property; verifies proper documentation of property processed for transfer and disposal.  Responsible for assigning and displaying all property numbers and tags with proper documentation of each item’s value, age and condition.  Oversees upkeep of inventory records as well as use and maintenance of equipment and facilities at each forestry station and shop facility.

 

Monitors all equipment and record keeping Center-wide by performing periodic and unscheduled audits.  These audits include compliance with purchasing policies and procedures and appropriate use of purchased items. Conducts annual facility safety and maintenance inspections on all Center facilities and completes the Department inspection checklist with noted deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.

 

Serves as the Center’s uniform liaison and is the primary contact for all uniform issues.  Responsible for coordinating the prompt placing, receiving and distribution of orders, including personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.  Communicates with the uniform vendor customer service representative and monitors uniform replacement flexible accounts to ensure individual accounts are not overspent.  Coordinates with the Center’s fiscal staff to manage boot reimbursement amounts and the Center’s purchase order accounts with uniform and other vendors.  Stays up-to-date on changes in policies, procedures and processes; informs supervisors and other personnel of these changes in a timely manner.

 

Performs other related duties as required, which may include handling revenue.
