ADVERTISING TITLE: Purchasing Analyst

 

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Procurement.

As a member of the Procurement team, our mission is to acquire goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively for the Florida Department of Corrections. We are dedicated to ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance in all procurement processes while supporting the department's operational needs and strategic objectives.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage and oversee Department contracts and agreements, including drafting documents, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring timely renewals or re-issues. Keep management informed of necessary procurement actions.
  • Draft, edit, and review contract specifications, conditions, and regulations. Assist with negotiating changes or renewal terms to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Analyze purchase awards, maintain contracts, and draft correspondence. Place contracts, amendments, and agreements in the Florida Accountability Contract Tracking System (FACTS) and the internal Department tracking system.
  • Process work squad contracts and agreements for various agencies across the state. Act as a liaison and mediator between vendors, the Bureau of Finance & Accounting, and program staff to resolve disputes quickly.
  • Compile statistical data and provide reports on contract activities. Monitor special projects, assist with contract document reviews, represent the Department to agencies and vendors, and answer routine questions from Department staff. Conduct research for public records requests.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four (4) or more years of contracts or solicitations experience. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year-for-year bases for the required experience.
