Requirements:
- High School Diploma or its' equivalent.
- VALID Driver’s License from the Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and any programs associated with the use of a personal computer.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferences:
- Experience with State of Florida Procurement/Purchasing.
- Experience with MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP).
- Experience with P-cards.
- Experience with customer service.
- Special consideration may be given to eligible candidates who have bilingual verbal and written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

WHAT IS OPS EMPLOYMENT?
Other Personal Services (OPS) employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used solely for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks. OPS are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignment and terminations at the recommendation of the employer. OPS employees are paid for the number of hours they work. OPS employees do not receive paid leave, or paid holidays. OPS staff have the potential for health insurance benefits and participation in the Deferred Compensation investment retirement program.
WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS?
Selection is a three-to-six-month process where the successful applicants MUST PASS the Oral INTERVIEW and CJSTC background prior to beginning.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with customers and vendors.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to research and analyze specifications pertaining to bids, contracts and/or pricing.
- Ability to apply and implement rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the purchasing process.
- Ability to maintain purchasing records.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and any programs associated with the use of a personnel computer.
- Ability to deal with people in person and over the telephone in a courteous manner.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.
- Serving internal customers and external vendors directly via email, phone, or face-to-face
- Reviewing purchase requisitions in the state purchasing system, MyFloridaMarketplace. (MFMP)
- Analyzing pricing information to make a recommended award
- Applying appropriate purchasing methods for seeking quotes and recommended awards
- Maintain all p-card profiles
- Review all p-card transactions for all cardholders, daily
- Audit p-card files for purchasing procedures, Florida Statutes and protocols
- Training customers on state procurement system. (MFMP)
- Training customers on use of state procurement card. (P-Card)
- Provide workshops/presentations to current users of MFMP and P-Card
- Maintaining annual agreements with vendors
- Assisting Contract Administrator and Purchasing Specialist by providing administrative/technical support on all Invitations to Bid (ITBS’s), Invitation to Negotiate (ITN), and Request for Proposals (RFP’s)
- Maintain contract management certification
- Seek out new ways to improve efficiency of operation
- Ensure customer service commitment is maintained at all times
- Seek out ways to improve customer satisfaction
- Maintaining contract management certification
- Serving as back-up to the Purchasing Specialist and Contract Manager
