This position is located in your nearest Regional CPI office and will be housed in an office setting full time. Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

 

What you will do:

 

The Department of Children and Families’ Office of quality and Innovation serves as the catalyst for ensuring high levels of performance across the state to support a strong workforce and positive outcomes for Florida families. The Quality Office seeks collaborative, action-focused, and transparent professionals dedicated to quality customer service to help lead a team of quality reviewers. This is a highly responsible position requiring extensive knowledge of and experience in child protection programs. Additional expertise in other department program areas such as economic self-sufficiency, substance abuse and mental health, and adult services is preferred. The incumbent will maintain a working knowledge of pertinent federal and state laws regarding child protective investigations and case management, Chapters 383.402, 39, 415, and 409, F.S. and pertinent administrative codes and operating procedures. In accordance with statute, administrative rules, and operating procedures, the incumbent will use analytical skills to assess, identify, and document the quality of work and critical decisions made by frontline staff and supervisors. Specific duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:      

 

How you will make an impact:

 

  • Conduct life-of-case quality reviews on assigned caseload that capture requirements from federal, state, and department laws and policies, including federal Children and Family Services Reviews. Complete reviews at designated intervals throughout the life of the case while maintaining the established standard for inter-rater reliability.

 

  • Enter review findings using identified software such as Qualtrics and communicate to the supervisor when a finding in an open case indicates the need for immediate action.

 

  • Engage with operational staff by participating in side-by-side reviews when assigned, participating in quality improvement teams and events, and by shadowing frontline staff and supervisors routinely.

 

  • Engage in education, training, and development by participating in the design and testing of review instruments and review approaches, participating in special training courses, and seeking professional development opportunities.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Proficiency, Microsoft Word, and Excel are required; Ability to enter information in to Qualtrics; Detail oriented; Knowledge of federal and state laws and policies regarding child welfare services; Knowledge of practices regarding child welfare services, behavioral health, substance use disorders, adult protective services, domestic violence, and/or economic self-sufficiency; Exceptional critical thinking skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong communication skills, verbal and written; Knowledge of all program areas within the department; Experience conducting case reviews; Ability

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience), preferably in Human Services or other related field.

 

  • Experience in FSFN preferred.

 

  • An active child welfare professional certification.

 

  • At least seven years child welfare experience.
