This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Budget and Management Evaluation.
Our mission in Budget and Management Evaluation is to ensure that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. We strive to provide accurate financial analysis, support strategic planning, and promote accountability to achieve the goals of the Florida Department of Corrections.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented Senior Management Analyst II to join its Budget Office. This position will play a critical role in supporting the agency's strategic fiscal planning throuhg comprehensive budget analyses, data modeling, and process improvement.
- As a key member of the budget team, the ideal candidate will bring a technical mindset to enhance data accuracy, streamline processes, and reporting, and create data visualizations to effectively communicate financial outcomes and budget forecasts. Additionally, this role will involve assisting with the transition to Florida Palm.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Four (4) or more years of accounting, finance, economics, information technology or related field experience. Postsecondary education may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail.
- Experience working with large datasets and financial systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in working in a state or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools.
- Experience with financial data extraction and reporting.
- Professional experience working with the state or other governmental budgets.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
