Duties and Responsibilities

The  in this position works closely with the Operations Services Supervisor and works independently, drafting and editing procedures and special correspondence related to motor vehicle titles and registrations, and vessel titles and registrations. The incumbent in this position is responsible for answering and responding to telephone calls that require technical knowledge and problem solving and responding to questions from the Motor Vehicle Q & A Board, posting the responses for tax collectors. The incumbent will also assist with training to implement motor vehicle and vessel title and registration laws and procedures; assist with analyzing documentation which may impact the bureau; preparing and recommending changes to special reports and projects; and drafting technical and complex correspondence.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in the use of Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS), Florida Driver License Information System (FDLIS), and Adobe.
  • Knowledge of Florida statutes, policies, and procedures as they relate to motor vehicles and vessels.
  • Knowledge and skills as it relates to Department issuance systems.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify problem areas and make improvement recommendations.
  • Ability to identify and research programmatic issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to verify data or accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively manage daily workload and to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to use tools to effectively track program and management.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team with business users from other bureaus and technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Have experience in preparing correspondence or written communication, conducting research, and providing customer service.
  • Have experience using Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS), Florida Driver License Information System (FDLIS), Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION) and Adobe.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
