MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 
 

Professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations, or investigations can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. 
 

An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals four (4) years can substitute for the above requirements.

JOB DUTIES:
 

Handles Spanish and English telephone inquiries, complaints and requests from consumers, business owners and other interested parties regarding laws and other functions administered by the division.  Refers telephonic inquiries to the proper office or section when appropriate.  Refers calls that are within the jurisdiction of another agency to that agency.
 

Provides applicants with guidance regarding registration and exemption under the regulatory functions of the division.  Assists consumers filing complaints with the division or seeking information, whether specific or general.
 

Uses computer equipment to search and store data and to enter necessary information to process a call. Handles requests for consumer complaint forms, brochures, registration packages and any other materials available from the division. 

Timely processes and fulfills requests for written information or materials.
 

Performs research necessary to answer questions and assist consumers and others in a variety of subject areas; reviews current literature on consumerism to stay abreast of the latest developments.
 

Assists with the translation of documents and phone calls.
 

Assists the Call Center (Consumer Assistance Center) staff with training and difficult calls. 
 

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Ability to speak fluently in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to write proficiently in English and Spanish.
