SPECIAL NOTES:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferences:
- Experience with inventory and office work.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and responding to general correspondence and telephone inquiries.
- Experience with working in an office such as filing, records keeping, inventory, business correspondence, emails and answering phones.
- Experience with work that interprets Florida rules and regulations.
- Experience investigating, analyzing, and resolving complaints.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position has responsibilities involving procedures adopted by the Department, Division, and Bureau. The procedures are part of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and, if needed, improve these controls and procedures in the performance of duties within the Division of Unclaimed Property.
Receives, examines, inventories and determines the resolution of complex accounts.
Examines and determines the lotting of appraised items for public sale to include photographing the items.
Prepares refund requests pursuant to an approved claim.
Reviews, corrects and ensures correct database entries supporting the property management system.
Coordinates the destruction of tangible property of no commercial value.
Ensures proper custody and recommends action to improve procedures.
Resolves consumer complaints and inquiries in writing or verbally.
Trains other employees and performs other related duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as required.
