SPECIAL NOTES:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience analyzing/processing financial or accounting data.
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service.
- Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft word and Excel.
- Ability to read and explain Florida Statutes.
Preferences:
- Two (2) years of professional experience working with securities or general finance experience.
- Professional experience in interpreting and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Opportunities to travel for unclaimed property events and overtime may be offered.
Successful applicant must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting, as condition of employment.
The starting annual salary for this position is $38,000.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of the methods of data collection. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to design and implement accounting systems. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records. Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Responsible for reviewing and processing the more complex electronic unclaimed property reports which consists of multiple or individual holder reports. Working with holders to identify report issues and correct them. Update the Unclaimed Property database for holder information as provided on the annual reports received from the holders. Responsibilities also include educating holders on reporting unclaimed property. Working knowledge of Chapter 717 Florida Statutes will be expected.
Being available to answer the ACD customer service line including the Reporting line.
Responsible for indexing documents in NET DMS.
