Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is position serves as a Team Lead position. The employee in this position reports to and assists the Regulatory Supervisor. This position is a professional position in which the employee functions independently, and as a team member, to process, evaluate and determine eligibility for licensure applications.
Serves as the main trainer/processor of military veteran/Criminal and Discipline History applications. Evaluates applications for nursing licensure by endorsement to determine eligibility. Approves requests for licensure or examination and notifies applicants. Serves as the primary processor for the Livescan reports received daily; requires posting of reports and ensuring that established timeframes for review are met. Serves as primary trainer for all Regulatory Specialist II processors. Primarily responsible for downloading license verifications from the zzzzNurseverify email boxes. Performs file merges when needed.
Corresponds with applicants to clarify concerns, obtain additional information or to explain relevant statutes or processing procedures as defined by Chapter 464, Part I & II, F.S., and applicable board rules. Generates standard correspondence to applicants to notify them of deficiencies and application status.
Reviews Level I and Level II background check results to determine proper routing of application. Routes file to RSII for review and/or preparation for board agenda. Coordinates with staff to update database and reroute documentation to the appropriate location.
Utilizes computer database systems and multiple internet sites to research licensure history, review disciplinary actions and status of other state licenses. Reviews and inputs qualifying information into licensure database.
Sorts and processes incoming mail. Responds to written inquiries to include e-mail and faxed documents. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of licensure information in the database. Reports any errors to include vendor errors. Maintains an electronic filing system through the document repository. Prepares documentation for imaging.
Meets or exceeds team production standards, participates in monthly team meetings, and participates in process improvement team meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by managerial staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to stay motivated with minimal input/monitoring from management.
- Ability to compile, organize and analyze complex data.
- Ability to investigate, analyze and resolve complex complaints.
- Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals.
- Ability to provide consultative assistance to team members and professionals.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work for processing team and Regulatory Specialist II activities.
- Ability to maintain effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to establish and maintain dependable, effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to maintain pre-approved work schedule with minimal interruptions to workflow.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent AND 2 years administrative experience to include computer software, data entry, travel arrangement preparation, document preparation, personnel, and budget review.
- College education can substitute for the required experience on a year for-year basis.
