We are seeking a strong leader for MQA’s Bureau of Operations, Licensure Support Services Unit on the Licensure Maintenance Team. The candidate selected for this position should be ready to lead by example, perform complex regulatory activities in involving research, evaluation, problem resolution and response to public record requests for license certifications. Ensure accuracy of the division’s practitioner licensee data in the database system, understand and apply department rules, statutes, practices and board rules and exercise independent judgment in dealing with licensees and resolving issues.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position requires problem solving skills. In this capacity the incumbent is responsible for the following:

Serves as a Team Lead and has duties to include assisting RSIIs and RSIIIs with complex questions related to the license maintenance of health care practitioner licenses to include processing license renewals, license certifications, practitioner profile updates, Department of Revenue suspensions and reinstatements within the Licensure Maintenance Team.

Assists with initial license, renewal and miscellaneous fee deposits and training of new and existing employees on this process. Provides management with consultative services to improve management capabilities with Radiologic Technology renewals and scantron processing. Supports supervisor as needed and assists with training of employees on the team. The position acts as Delegated Authority when Supervisor is out of office.

Provides direction, technical assistance, and guidance to licensed health care practitioners, both verbally and in writing, regarding the renewal and issuance of their license, disciplinary actions and administrative suspensions. Performs complex research using the department’s licensing database to respond to complaints and inquiries from the consuming public, applicants, licensees and DOH staff. Conducts independent analysis of post licensure inquiries returned by the contracted vendor.

The selected incumbent will review each licensure certification request to ensure appropriate validation of the processing fee. Conduct fee transactions in LEIDS for all validated money prior to producing certification letter unless the customer is exempt then a no-pay transaction is done in licensing database. All research must be performed in compliance with the laws governing confidentially.  Verify licensure data for all professions such as the original date of licensure, expiration dates, birthdates, education history, social security number and home address. Other major corrections are reported to the supervisor.

Assists with other related projects or duties as determined or requested by management.
